Now this is really awesome Craig!

There is some real depth to this, it almost feels 3D. Great work with this.

Thanks Very Much Jim, It's one of my Most Favorite Places !!! Hoping to go back and
do the Canyon Tour, we'd done that years and years ago and just didn't have the right
timing for that trip. Have to Say the Rim Road is really a neat setting as well !!!

Thanks Again, Take Care,

Craig

Its an almost other worldly looking landscape. Neat effect.
Hi Alan, Canyon de Chelly really is a wonderful place to see and shoot. We'd driven the Rim Road the Day Before, and didn't
have any clouds and the light just seemed so off. Went back to the next Day to find these wonderful clouds had come in and
the light streaming in the Canyon was so surreal to see how it changed every minute.

Thanks and Take Care,

Craig
Very nice looking.
Thanks very Much Leslie !!!

I think after seeing this, I need to go and finally stop by there. I am usually always in a hurry so stopping by there never seems to happen. But maybe this fall I will swing over there even if it’s just for a day.

Hi Jim,

It's more than worth your time, stepping back in History like Canyon de Chelly is such a wonderful adventure
and while not a term I use very often, almost Spiritual. The feeling reminds me so much of being in Monument Valley.

If you've not been before I'd certainly do the Canyon Tour, getting down on the bottom of the Canyon and seeing so many
of the special places upclose and with a different perspective from the Rim Road. Each has a totally different perspective
but each neat in it's own right.

There's a good Holiday Inn close to the Rim / Tour Companies loading area and has a really, really good
restaurant on Site. I guess you can tell we loved the food and good service.

The Overlooks on the Rim Road are well defined on Google Maps, but also be aware some of them are a good walk, sometimes
over uneven and unlevel ground. We're not very active and not really Hikers or Walkers so I have to say a couple of the Overlooks
had quite a walk down to the Rim and View, and we were huffing and puffing coming back up, and sometimes wondered if we were
going to make it !!! but as I said we're not in good walking / hiking shape so most wouldn't have a problem, plus we're not used to the
elevation/ altitude.

On our next trip we'll be staying at the same place and allowing time for a full day canyon tour, and also another run at
the rim road. I will say, that like Monument Valley and the blowing dust and sand, a closed vehicle will be our choice and then
be able to stop at all the places we want and also get to the back of the Canyon where so much of the History is that most
folks never see or know about.

If I can answer any questions or help out just let me know.

Take Care,

Craig

Craig - Thanks for the introductions to Canyon de Chelly, looks like a great place spend a couple of days. Is the tour you speak of guided? The earth sprit is self evident here, well captured.

Hi Zeph,

Appreciate the very kind comments, and you're so right about the Spirit, sounds weird but I get goosebumps from
it like I do every time we've been to Monument Valley.

I can't certify the Canyon Tours as we've not been in over 20+ yrs, when we did it we went in an old Army Half-Track
with open seating in the back. We were both much younger then and Loved the Experience and still talk so fondly of it
to this day. The Canyon really has a lot of History both Ancient and 1800's as well. To reach the very back of the Canyon and
it's several routes a Full Day Tour or at least 5+ hours I think was what we were looking at for next time. I think that there were
tour leaving from the Hotel that I'd mentioned to Jim, we weren't up too early so I think we saw them when they were returning ;-)

Here's one of the Older Tour Companies with him having a lot of reviews on Tripadvisor, both good and bad, with if you've
spent any time in the Southwest things seem to change rapidly sometimes.

There's a number of tour companies and they all see to operate our of the same area/compound. Here's the Approved List of Guides

https://www.nps.gov/cach/upload/2018-Tour-Operators-1-17-18.pdf

I'll post one of the Signature Iconic Spots there.

Craig
