A view from the bridge

A scene I have dreamed of seeing from that location - and not one I have had the privilege of seeing first hand. The fall colors add a nice twist to the scene.

Exceptional image Ben..
When I arrived a few years back, there we're at least 25 shooters in place, sucking up all the available light and I'm thinking, be tactful here, but I wanted to use my Zeiss 21mm, so I had to penetrate the wall of shooters. Without wasting anytime this fellow calls me over to share his space, so there are generous photogs.

Amazing!!! What gorgeous colors.
Thanks Ann

Me too, this is the only time I have had fall color and a sunset to see at this place. I did get a sunrise here once, but it has to be a certain time of year to get light on the Watchman.

This is so true. Then there is the one guy who stands in the middle of the river in everyone's shot.

Hey Ben,

This is a really nice scene from the bridge, that sky just went totally crazy that evening for you.

I have shot quite a bit in Zion, but still haven't shot from the bridge. It's on my list of compositions I would like to get, maybe this year? Kyle has listed in the Meetup Forum a gathering in Zion for late Oct, if I am able to make it there, I am thinking I will make a point to stand and hang with everyone up on the bridge. :)

Hi Jim, I like to go when the shuttles stop running, it used to be first week in November, now they have extended it probably because that is about peak color.

This is like Mesa Arch, everyone needs one in their collection. The big problem for me is that once I have most of the icons, I have to think for myself (gulp)

Wonderful conditions for this one! I've shot the bridge a couple of times with nothing to write home about. I'll be there again in a couple of months.

Thanks Kyle. Yes, most of my work can be improved. I wish I had been able to get a spot closer to the right side of the bridge but I was too late for that. Got to be there early for a spot and get lucky for color. I am not likely to match that sky again so I am pretty sure this is my Bridge shot.

It is one to be proud of Ben!

Super shot, Ben. Love the wild colours. It is getting harder to find a place amongst the photogs at any iconic site, these days - not to mention the cruise tourists and the selfie sticks! - so it's good to hear of such good manners and fellow feeling!

For me...there's nothing really to add. I cannot offer any advice for improvement, nor can I say anything that hasn't already been said.

Got this one a couple years back. It was so crowded there was no parking place so my wife dropped me off and picked me up later. The first time she came back I waved her off because this was developing. Glad I did. Because this was developing.

Wow, I do mean that! When I took it last year in the fall, it was "pretty" but a blank sky.
Guess it just means I will have to return
