Another Wednesday and another round of the beauty to be found in falling water

My falls for today are from a stroll last fall along Sweet Creek in the Siuslaw National Forest. This cluster of falls are best with a medium flow of water just before the rainy season like what you see in this image. I have visited this scene right after a round of heavy storms with water at least 3-4' deep when this complex of cascades aren't even visible due to the heavy torrent of roaring water.

Pile on with whatever you have showing falling water.

One of my favorite falls in the Cascades and a really nice shot of them. I need to visit that area again one of these days.

Interesting looking place I have never visited. I had to look it up on a map to even figure out where this was to be honest. Marked on my maps for future reference

Assaranca waterfall, Donegal. We were driving to our next stop and I was looking for a waterfall that was in an online guidebook when we came round the corner and found this one. Right beside the road with a small car park, we sat and had lunch in the car. I have since found it online showing a pleasant slim fall bouncing down the hill but on this occasion it was in full spate. I have left the couple in to give some sense of scale. Lots of spray but the rain eased up so I managed a few shots. Online estimates of height range from 100ft to more than 400ft (very fanciful) , my guess, about 100ft seems right. I never found the first waterfall, driving around Irish single track roads in the rain starts to pall after a while. Fast shutter speeds, for me, any longer than about 1/5s and the falls became a featureless shoot. Ken

Nice roadside find Ken - neat falls with lots of interesting cascades along its path. I like the shutter speed choice in the first image - just slow enough to bring a sense of motion but fast enough to keep things from turning into featureless mush. Good call on leaving the couple in the frame for a sense of scale.
