Mt. Hood Moonrise

I was shooting a nice sunset last night and swiveled around to see what the mountains behind me looked like. When I focused on Mt. Hood I saw this in my viewfinder and decided it was worth a telephoto panorama. Much nicer colors off to the west behind me and no sunlight left on the mountain but a nice alignment with the moon.

Thanks - the light was quite fleeting and by the time the sunset colors had faded so did Mt. Hood and this view.

Thanks John - pure serendipity. I had no clue I should have been looking for this scene. Dedicated astro types would have known the moon phase and rise/set times but I am not one of them.
