Big Trees

I'm looking forward to the opening of access once again to the Mariposa Grove of giant Sequoias in Yosemite Nat'l Park this June. I was only there once, early in spring, before the road was open due to snow. I hiked there to find I was alone in this fabulous place. I carried my 4x5 and made one image there. It is still one of my favorites. I've gifted and sold this image many times.

Thank you Jameel. The Mariposa grove area has been closed to the public for a year to two as it undergoes restoration work. It's a very sensitive area and has seen massive human visitation. I think we can expect improved and expanded walkways and facilities and better protection for this magical forest.
