Five Runners and a Flag

Well, the truth is I never try abstract but on occasion have an appreciation for other's work. I guess I'm not artsy enough and the story behind this shot confirms that belief.

Here's my first post in this forum (maybe my last) . I was covering an Ironman event when I saw a group of Veterans coming and wanted to get them along with the flag they were carrying. In the hurry to get into position I bumped my lens on my belt and, unknown to me, turned focus to manual. By the time I figured out what happened, the runners were gone.

Here's the result and while I was initially disappointed, it's sorta grown on me.

You definitely have the abstract part covered

Knowing what it is you shot I can visualize the shapes in the scene but there's not much in the scene that would otherwise clue me in.

As Tattoo might say, ze flag ze flag . That's about the only touch to reality though.

Amen! Sure beats the other type accident I had a few years ago where I dropped (faulty strap) a D700 and 24-70 f/2.8 lens. Nikon's stock went up that week, ouch!
