The View up the Creek

I like Mt. Hood and foreground tree aligning in your composition—nice limited palette too. Very nice.
Thanks John - I have to confess I have a very limited number of places with a full view of Mt. Hood without tree branches in the way when it came time to frame the shot. The winter palette is limited for a venue like this one. The grasses here get inundated frequently during the winter months and basically go dormant until spring. By early summer all of the water except the small channel in the lower right will be gone and green takes over the wetland. At the end of December after over 8" of rain for the month this entire scene was underwater except for the very tops of the tallest grasses.

What a cool view of Hood! I am glad you got out and got this one.
Thanks Jim - I actually went down to the creek to shoot birds but noted the nice clear skies that made Mt. Hood look like a tempting target as well. The mountain is about 55 miles away and air pollution often makes it a less attractive subject.

I like the composition with a clear view of Mt Hood with the creek and the vegetation in the foreground. A small nit - I would clone out the branches near the top right.

Thanks Jameel - I should have cloned those branch tips out. When I was lining up the shot I mostly was moving to the left to avoid that tree entirely and stopped when it seemed to be out of the frame.
