El Cap among the clouds

I like this perspective with the nice details on the grasses down in front and the fog/mist teasing the larger scene in the background. Adds a mood of mystery to this iconic view of El Capitan. The fall colors are a nice bonus to round out the scene.

This is such an awesome view from Gates of the Valley. I really like how you worked those reeds into the foreground.

There used to be a super large tree trunk that a flood had deposited right below the parking area. it was great because it prevented a lot of those willows and other bushes from growing in the best photographing spots. A few years ago, another flood moved it away, and now those smaller trees are growing back and making it harder to compose, it really limits where you can stand to shoot from. But you worked it really well.

Thanks Alan. I shot from this location on multiple days with very different light and atmosphere.

Thanks Jim. It was a bit challenging to find a good place to put down a tripod. Finally decided to do it handheld. The IBIS along with IS on the lens now make this possible.
