Comet C2025 A6 Lemmon #2

This is my 2nd shot at the comet last week. I took it up in the Snowy Range. It was super windy, 20+ mph winds. I set up my astro rig and then moved my truck to try and help block the wind some, but it was pretty fruitless.

I only got 6 minutes of imaging in before it got too low and I was getting the mountain into the image. And of those 6 minutes (30 sec subs). I would say only 5 had sharp stars, the rest were elongated to some degree. So I was pretty surprised when after stacking and BlurXterminator I found the stars pretty much all nice and round. Whew!

I left my rig up for a couple of hours in hopes that the wind would die down as it often does after sunset. But it didn't and though I had it weighed down, I was concerned that a gust of wind might blow it over. So during those 2 hours I tried a couple of objects, but at 3 minute subs, the stars were moving all over the place. So I took it down and just let my 2 Milky Way cameras run as they are easier to weigh down and make secure as they have less mass to get buffeted by the wind.

Now on the plus side, since I only had 6 mins of subs, I didn't need to bother with separating the comet and stars and stacking them by themselves. So that really sped up the processing.
