Waterfall Wednesday 8/27/2025

My falls for today are from Falls Creek Falls in Washington's Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Towards the end of our dry season these falls shrink down from being one big firehose to a series of smaller more delicate cascades that offer up almost endless small scenes when you toss on a long lens.

Pile on with whatever you have showing water demonstrating obedience to gravity

I love these falls - one of the nicer ones in Mt. Rainier N.P.

Sweet - there are a couple of places in the Gorge where logs are almost always wedged in the scene like this. And almost never the same ones year after year. I would be curious to shoot these falls with a drone sometime as the viewpoints are limited.

In the spring these falls are a giant firehose with almost no fine details at all. Late summer/early fall offer up more interesting features.

Very nice drop-off for the creek - very picturesque with the dense forest flanking the creek too.

Fits just fine and I often shoot similar flows - perfect choice for shutter speed. This gives it almost a paint brush feel to the water textures.
