One cloud became two somehow. A massive Lenticular cloud decided it wanted to do the splits. :)

Captured in Northern Colorado yesterday evening. It was a bit of a race to get from the East side of Greeley Colorado to the West side, but I think the results were worth it.

Nice job of getting to your viewpoint just in time for the pastel hues on the lenticulars. I think I have seen images where there are stacks of these forming over a peak when the conditions are right.

This was actually 1 Lenticular cloud that split itself into 2 clouds.

Yeah - and if I understand the process correctly the 2 clouds can further split into 3 and maybe 4 if the conditions are just right.
I am not sure on that. I think this may be the first time I saw it split like this, usually they just end up melting away for me.
