Waterfall Wednesday 11/13/2024

From a visit to the Sweet Creek trail of waterfalls a couple of weeks back. Like most of the falls along this trail these falls have no name and are just one of an almost continuous set of rapids and basalt shelf falls. I visit this trail often but it never quite looks the same each time I visit so I always find new ways to shoot the place each time I go.

Beautiful imagery Ken - hard to choose but I think I like the wider view that allows us to enjoy more of the fall color around these falls.

Gravity is one of the few things we can always count on living on this planet. That's an amazing drop and equally amazing you have a view of it like this.

Nice Michael - the lower rapids at Wahkeena have always been one of my favorite targets up in the Gorge.

Sadly that set of waterfalls has been completely overrun during the last year and is almost impossible to visit anymore. I tried dropping by a couple of weeks ago on a weekday only to find that people were filling up all of the parking spots that could be found within a mile of the Wahkeena parking area. It was hard to drive up to the actual parking area due to the number of people walking on the roadway from where they finally parked their cars. It was a mob scene that rivaled what we usually see on weekends at Multnomah.

Neat little falls - I like the leaves scattered around the rocks in between the falls and your choice of shutter speed for this flow.
