Fall color in Nevada

I had read online somewhere that Hwy 225 in Northern Nevada was the most scenic drive in the state. While I'm not so sure it is the most scenic (Valley of Fire SP comes to mind) it is a very enjoyable drive through low mountain scenery with many opportunities for outdoor recreation along it's length. This image is from 2 weeks ago, taken from a pullout beside the highway.

I’ve not driven that road yet. One Nevada highway I really enjoyed was Highway 167 through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Long, sweeping curves through landscapes that remind you of Valley of Fire, but without the heavy traffic!

I have driven across Nevada many times but have never gone up that little highway. I like this small scene with the golds of the aspen grove amidst the grasses and sage.

Thanks guys! This was a very enjoyable drive, but my main takeaway was this is a place I need to return to when I have a few extra days for some laid back camping. The scenery was great and nowhere was it crowded, even though peak season for color.

This is a great find! And it not being crowded makes it even better. I like the mix of colors in this scene.
