Trent, I love the fall weed in the snow image—vibrant colors on snow, nice! Another unusual image is the spent sunflowers reaching to the horizon—not captured when the sunflowers are in full flower but beauty still discovered when the sunflowers after their prime—nice! I also like the two autumn riverview scenes. It’s always good to see how different light transforms a scene. Thank you for sharing these images!Nice selection of images John. I really like the Foothills Parkway picture. The clouds look like you could just walk out on them.
Here are some October images from my archives.

Alan, I love the rainforest images you’ve shared with the additional colors of autumn adding to the captures. Nice! Horsetail Falls is perhaps my favorite but all the Silver Falls images are equally beautiful as well. Thank you for sharing each of these Alan!October is a good month for fall colors - especially in Silver Falls State Park near Salem, Oregon

Craig, thank you for sharing all these wonderful captures! It’s also nice to see that these “images of yesterday” retain their aesthetic appeal today! I love the reflection in “White Dusting”—a beautiful scene captured. The “Searing Setting Sunlight” (say that 3 times fast)* is perhaps my favorite capture—the combination of vibrant warm colors against the blue shadowed mountain peaks and sky—very, very nice! The “Desert Bloom” is also well seen and captured—love the white spirals captured. The “Lone Pine” title adds significance to this perfect composition—great image. “Viewpoint” and “Fallen” are two more well seen scenes—and perfect titles too! “The Last Aspen” is another well chosen title for this last leaf—well seen.A few October. It's a little depressing when I look at some dates and realize they are over ten years ago and it seems like yesterday.

Larry, four beautiful landscapes—love the layers in the Canyonlands photo. The two Balanced Rock images of sunrise and afternoon light (with moon) are well composed and favorites! Another favorite is the Dead Horse Point at first light—beautiful light captured. Here are a few from October 2014 from the Moab area:

Doug, love all the autumn colors captured in these special images with a common water element—well, with one exception (very beautiful exception too). Silver Cascade and Bonanza Falls are my two favorites, the blue water between autumn foliage creates a colorful contrast. Thank you for sharing!Great topic, John. Lots of beautiful fall color images.
