Flowers on the forest Floor

On a drive to Tincup CO we came across this field of Purple/Blue flowers on the floor of a pine forest. I have never seen a display like this in Colorado so we stopped and spent some time trying to caprure the feeling of this place. This photo does not adequately convey the feeling of this place! ;)

Beautiful scene - I like how the blooms nicely decorate the open forest floor.

Open forest floor is not a concept that applies west of the Cascade range.

Nice shot Larry. This is what I call "forest". There are beautiful flowers around the trees and not overgrown bushes through which the trees cannot be seen. LOL.
What camera, Larry?

This is so cool Larry! It reminds me of Texas Bluebonnet's and how they can sometimes grow in forests.

Great job here!

Thanks Peter for your comments; there are lots of 'forest' areas in Colorado with colorful flowers as ground cover! ;)

That image was taken with the Sigma SD14 and the 50mm F:2.8 macro lens.
