Craig, a beautiful series of “West” images—the direction is meant to be a general direction and guide for your selections. (NW or SW will work!) All the images are warm and wonderful—the snow in the “Warmth of the Sun” image, especially viewing this in August! My two favorites are “A Knife’s Edge” and “Long Way Home”—and the “Utah Carwash” is my favorite title—good image as well.Had to figure out what was truly west by checking on Google Earth.

Rick, I love your B&W images—very well captured and edited—my favorite is the Organ Mountains image. The “West” direction is meant to convey that direction to you—and just a general guide only to choose images.West, ouest, à gauche en regardant vers le nord, American west or Canadian west ? Is one of each ok ?

Doug, a beautiful series you’ve shared. My favorites are the Grand Canyon image and the Bryce Canyon image too. Bryce is always nice! When I retired from teaching in Illinois, I headed west to Arizona to be near my beloved southwest. Here are some of the images I have made since I moved here.

Alan, a wonderful West series you’ve shared, the direction hasn’t limited your choices it seems. It’s difficult to choose a favorite among them—perhaps your first and last captures—but all are well seen scenes and captured. Not a particularly wide area to the west of where I live compared to those living a lot farther east in the first place so a lot of coastal shots from me.

Ken, love these images—perhaps the Wastwater capture is my favorite, but the two Assynt images are very special as well—and I love the two perspectives of the same scene. Glad you interpreted kilometers for “miles”!Two images from Assynt, NW Scotland

Great images Kyle, especially favor the Lake Matheson landscape—love its perfect reflection. Perhaps I recall the Li River image shared in FocalWorld previously and happy to see its once again—a very beautiful image with gorgeous colors. Thank you for sharing your Secret—beach that is! Incredible sky captured.Like Alan, to go west I pretty much have to head into the Pacific. So here are some heading into the ocean...

Dan, a beautiful view—and a beautiful landscape of the Pihea Trail lookout. I love the inclusion of the sunlit area, it adds a nice contrast to the remainder of the scene. Nice! The second image is interesting with the pronounced foliage foreground with the hills beyond creating a nice warm/cool background.Kauai, Pihea Trail lookout 2012

Bob, I really liked your White Pocket and Shiprock images you’ve shared recently—and would always like to see more! All lovely shots! Since I have been posting more than my share of western landscapes, I'll just applaud you all for these wonderful images.
