An amazing and characteristic photo! When the Rufous birds arrive each summer, they are usually the most animated (aggressive?) of the hummingbirds, typically guarding the feeders and chasing others away. And your photo is as perfect as any artistic rendering could be.

I have so many hummingbirds right now I have to refill my feeders twice a day, and I have three in the back and two in the front. Haven't seen too many Rufus yet, but they'll be coming soon. I think they are getting geared up to head south soon...

Great shot. I've never had good luck with hummingbirds, I think they look at the telephoto and think it's a giant eye!
