Five states of Kirkjufell, Iceland

Thanks to my work, I have been lucky enough to be able to go to Iceland at least twice a year since 2017, either running Workshops or for my personal work; I have also been lucky to go in winter, when the conditions you'll find are always extremely different.

Every time I go, I try and stop by Kirkjufells, if I can; while one of the most photographed places in Iceland, the iconic shape of the mountain and the beautiful waterfalls strongly appeal to me, and I always love to try and find new ways to portray them. Can't wait to be back in February!

I agree, it's so iconic! I for one don't shy away from iconic places. I know some don't like iconic places because others have taken photos there before them. But for me, that's even more reason to go there, so that I can also capture it. Icons are called icons for a reason, and we shouldn't skip out on capturing them ourselves just because others have photographed it before us.

I completely agree with you on the iconic places; I never understood why I should deprive myself of photographing them just because others went before me. On the other hand, I find the challenge of finding a new, fresh interpretation truly inspiring and stimulating.
