Thanks all! I do like photographing some of these finds of old and out of the way cemeteries.

I have a story about a small family plot I found by accident that seems appropriate with upcoming Halloween. I was motorcyling up to the Valle Caldera near Jemez Springs, NM on a dirt road that was nicknamed "Rocky Road." Wasn't a rough 4X4 road but did need a vehcle with ground clearance as there was a section with big rocks. About half-way up from the small native village of Cochiti, I had to pee and saw remanents of a little side road. I took it and found it went to a run down, abandoned house. After taking care of business and looking around, I saw remains of a small picket fence going around few grave markers. I went over and saw one that had a very old doll tied to a crucifix marker. I thought it would make a neat picture and went back to my bike and pulled out a small point&shoot I had in a bag. I got all set up with composing the shot and down on my knees, ready to press the shutter when I suddenly got overwhelmed with a feeling of dread. I mean a powerful feeling! I looked around and while I didn't see anything. I got the feeling of needing to leave and leave now. I didn't run but quickly went back to the bike, threw the camera back in the tail bag and quickly donned my helmet and took off. I went several miles before the goose bumps and feeling of dread finally faded. Never experienced anything like it and probably some weird emotional thing I was strangely experiencing but it sure got to me and I never did get the image or any images from that place. I also never got the idea to return but that road is also closed and blocked off now.

Thanks Ben. It's a true story. I didn't see anything that would give chills and it was also mid-afternoon so when thinking back on it, very strange getting such a feeling but it was a powerful, overwhelming feel of needing to get out and get away. Also, as mentioned, had to travel a good bit before the feeling of dread faded.

Neat Image and Very Spooky Story Doug, that had to have been such an eerie and strange feeling to hit like that.
I'm sure it's one you've never forgotten.
Take Care

Thanks Craig! Looking back, I'm thinking it had to be some wacky imagination gone wild but it sure got me and got me good but even with this rationalization, I have no interest to revisit. :)

Hello You,
No, I don't think I'd be going back either, there's things that just can't be explained and that part of the US has a lot of
things like that, with all the Native American's and their Rituals and Culture, and Spirits, which I admire greatly. So many neat and wonderful
places to see and shoot in NM !!!
Take Care, Be Safe,

Wow Doug! What a crazy experience! How long ago was that?

I know that section of road, though not that little road you took off on. It's a really cool area, but I can imagine a scary area at times too.
