Return to Death Valley Waterfall

After my initial unsatisfying midday trip, I returned to this oasis in the evening for the no direct sunlight treatment. I also came with an umbrella since this spot was directly under the fall and I was using a lens with a bulbous front element. The area had changed pretty dramatically in the two weeks. The temperature was over 100 (instead of around 70), the running water down the canyon only covered half the length compared to last time, and there were no dry areas at the waterfall at all. All comments welcome!

Very cool Tim! I am glad you went back. Having to shoot under and umbrella says a lot of how wet it is. That's a really fun discovery you made, it's not an area I recall hearing about before.

Sounds like shooting on a normal winter day up here in the NW :) Interesting to see the smaller water tributary flowing into the same pool. Does this flow year round or dry up as summer gets serious?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

It's definitely not a canyon I've seen named in the regular circles (just the weirdos who seem to spend most of their life in Death Valley).

I'm not sure how long the flow lasts, but the evaporation rates have to be intense in the height of summer. I think it is fed by melt off of an 11,000 foot peak.

Thanks Oliver!

Really nice on my big screen. Hard to see the water on my phone
Yeah, I spent a long time editing this making it read better, but I think this one won't do well printed smaller than 16x20
