I captured this yesterday at a local pond area. It was still really cold, and I was looking for ice and ice patterns. I liked what I found.

Are those air pockets in the ice? This makes an amazing abstract and in B&W is almost a bit confusing scene.

Thanks Alan. I am guessing they must have been air pockets, though they looked pretty frozen over at this point.

Oh I love this! My mind is less triggered to figure out what it is. Is that because it doesn’t even suggest being something other than an abstract images? Not sure.

Jim, great find, I love the tones in the ice.

Also, I hope you guys are hunkered down & prepared, the next week weather is gonna swing wildly from bone-chilling to toasty.

Awesome photo, Jim! Those are really neat air bubbles in the ice. I love finding details like this. This is an especially photogenic arrangement. Great choice for B&W.
