I’m not sure if this is street or just an environmental portrait, but it was taken unawares on a San Fransico street. He was quite a character and street performer.
Wow, thanks for the encouraging comments. I’ll look into a slight vignette. I’m certainly not opposed to vignette but I guess I unconsciously didn’t add any to keep it more natural. Yeah, natural, like b/wMike there is absolutely zero that I don't like about this image.
It's a freaking home-run in my opinion. A minor nit might be that the foot is a bit awkwardly cropped but there is so much other goodness it's hard to notice unless you're nitting. If it bothers you in the least a slight vignette could take care of it.
NICE ONE!

Ha, my only defense is a long time admiration for the work of Ruud Albers, a current Dutch photographer who has the unique skill to take the most mundane street shots and apply interpretation, all in b/w. I’d give you a link but he no longer posts to the site where I followed his work.Hey Mike,
This is super cool looking! So many cool details.
I definitely need to figure out a way to go shoot some street photography this weekend too!
Does street photography have to be B&W? Can it be color too?
Thank you very much... MikeExtraordinary image! Love the tones and the sense of a performer at work is quite strong.
I agree this is a home run. It is seldom I see a street image this sharp and detailed. plus the mood, the subject, the whole nine yards is perfect.
Thanks much... MikeSuperb.
