Beans In The Rocks

This was taken yesterday at Bean Hollow State Beach, I did a quick lookup, the rocks date back as far as 100 M.A., it's the deep-sea sediments, it's called "tafoni".

Alan, this spot is a bit hit & miss, I have gone to Bean Hollow State Beach dozens of times, more often than not it's fog-clad.

Oliver, if you liked Bean Hollow, go north to Salt Point state park in Sonoma, north of Ft. Ross. Along the coast there, is a section of this same formation almost an eight of a mile long. You could get lost there for at least a day! I have in the past. Love the way you took this shot, Very nice!

Roger, many years ago I camped there one weekend but totally missed the rock formations, I will go back there in the Summer next year to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
