That is a very simple yet complex design for that staircase. The ceiling also has a complex geometry. Some people just have a natural knack for design, that carpenter sure did, and the craftsmanship is wonderful.

As a woodworker I have a pretty good idea how it was built and am quite impressed with the builders skills given the tools of the day. Spiral staircases aren't new and have been used for a long time in Europe when you needed stairs in tight spaces. Not quite miraculous but that shouldn't detract from admiring the beautiful result.

Did you use the Mimo app to record the video?

Yep, all of my videos are recorded with the Mimo App.

As for the staircase, while spiral staircases aren't new, spiral staircases without vertical support just didn't exist. So that's what makes it a miracle. Initially it didn't even have the handrails, it was just the steps spiraling upwards. The Sisters were frightened to use it, afraid they would fall off, so the handrails were added later.
