The rose garden in Vancouver's Esther Short Park can be a real delight during late spring when the rainy season is still a prevalent weather pattern. I have no idea what varieties these are past being roses that looked really nice.

Thanks Jameel - that's why I kept making sure I included this rose garden on days when they were in bloom with cloudy/rainy skies.

Thanks Jim - once I had seen this garden with blooms in the rain during late spring I made a point of making sure I was going to catch some of the more interesting specimens at peak bloom with fresh raindrops even if it meant shooting while holding an umbrella.

I learned about shooting flowers with water on them using exactly that technique. Hard to beat just shooting on a rainy day - especially since we have so many of them

I sprayed some wild roses with water once from my hydration pack, but it just didn't make those big drops on the petals.
