NGC 2736 Pencil Nebula

Reprocessed some older data by running the subs through PixInsight's new NormalizeScaleGradient script before integration. I've found quite a huge improvement as differences in the skyglow/background gradient was quite large through the 3-night imaging session.
Data set consisted of 30xHa and 30xO3 subs at 10mins each.

I just think this is such a special object - as noted above with a distinctive appearance compared to many other deep sky targets. Wish it was in view from tis side of the globe :) Lovely details in the OIII portions with that nice contrasting color of the Hα.

I just saw info on that new NormalizeScaleGradient script myself recently - will be trying out on some targets soon hopefully. Nice to hear it is working so well.

This is amazing Carlos. I have seen a couple Pencil Nebula images before, but never with that fine below the Pencil. That is such delicate and featherly looking.

Thanks Mike ! Definitely try the new script as it works REALLY well. The key is choosing the best reference sub.
