My starter falls for today is the area just below the mail falls at Bridal Veil Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. The shot was taken during a mid January visit when the place was mostly devoid of other visitors from the middle of a footbridge. I have always found this stretch of the river more interesting than Bridal Veil Falls proper and shot this area far more often than the falls as the only viewpoint for the main falls has you shooting straight up into the sky which isn't very photogenic.

Bond Falls in the U.P. of Michigan this Monday

Lots more water than the fall will have and mosquitoes by the scads🤢
Most of the falls in my area look nicer with lower water flows than spring but these present quite well with the spring flows. Bummer about the skin divers tho.....

Thanks for starting this Alan, and great start. I have also shot those falls.

This is a new one, taken Monday morning with fresh spring run off and early leaves. To get to this place I start upstream and work my way across that scree you see upper left. Then I scramble over many large boulders which is a one way trip, and after taking my images, I need to crawl up another scree bank to the road. Each year I make it is a celibration.

Beautiful scene Ben - the difficulty of access makes the result look better in my understanding :) I like the spring scene of the Wasatch Range forests as a backdrop.

Alan: What a wonderful starting image. As mentioned, superb texture in the water. Well done.

I have one from a recent hike in the Adirondacks, Beaver Meadow Falls -- headed up that way again this weekend:

There wasn't a lot of green to support the scene yet, but hopefully by this weekend there will be more.

Great staircase for this water flow Bart. Looks like a hard shot to get with the sky directly above to spike the dynamic light range but you did a good job of taming the light.
