No advance info, I take my solar scope out every morning and if there is a large prominence or sunspot I'll bring out my camera. One nice thing about Florida almost every morning it is clear.Sweet capture. Do you have any kind of advance information about when something like this is going to occur or do you just set up and hope something happens?
Yes one of these days and if it is still there tomorrow I might try. I was out doing yard work all morning and after that I took out the scope but it was pretty hot today and didn't want to stay out any longer. That's just impressive. I recall you were thinking of doing a time lapse of the flares. Did you ever get around to it? That would be something to behold.
It got to a point when I don't bother with the small ones, I've been doing this for so long.So cool Chuck! These prominences are so awesome. I am glad you are posting these as I am beginning to learn some of the terminology. It might not seem like much, but it's cool to know the right words to describe aspects of the sun.

A real nice prominence from this afternoon 3/16/21. Taken with the Lunt60 solar scope and DMK21au618 camera and 2.5 extender.
Thanks Mike, I was hoping it was larger today but it got smaller.Very nice - that thing is HUGE!
