As a photographer who loves the outside, It is always very satisfying to have what I am photographing to be relaxed enough with me close by to continue to do what he does naturally, I love when they initially look at you and connect, but even more when they decide you are not a threat and continue on about their day.
Wonderful capture Roger. Glad you were able to get a relaxed shot and no people were there to disturb those moments...

Debbie, I am so lucky to be able to photograph alone for most of my subjects. I realize this is not so for so many photographers these days. I rarely, if ever, mention where I am when I took a particular photograph. "At the pond", I mostly call the bird photos when posting online. I love my time alone with most of the subjects and wish more people had that option open for them. I would call my time alone with my camera and Nature "My Spiritual time". I never take multiples per second and usually am observing more than I am photographing, for me if I don't get the shot it is not important, being there is what I enjoy.

I know exactly what you mean Roger. Iv'e been shooting alone too, for years. It's just annoying when you spend a lot of one-on-one time with a subject only to have someone come along with no respect for what you are doing and decide they want to converse or honk or just pass closely etc....
