Morning Light at Valley of Fire

Nice soft lighting brings out the colors in the rocks. Like the winding road as well - typically this would go against the rule of leading the eye out of the frame but it works here.

I generally try to avoid having paved roads in my shots, but this works really well here. And I like the soft desert light.

Hi Alan,

I really like your takeaway here. I saw those formations, but had a choice to make for sunrise locations. It feels like I was there more than a year ago, but it was just 6 months! 2020...

Like Jameel noticed, technically the road is not how we would want it placed in a composition, but it works here. Perhaps because it’s a smaller element then the arch rock?

Good job on breaking the rules here. :)

If you have a road in an image, this is a good one to have. Great light too.

Excellent! I really love that light!
Thanks for the comments. For the record I used to color outside of the lines too 🤪
