Birmingham from Red Mountain

I was inspired by the cityscapes posted so I pulled out this older shot of Birmingham, Alabama. I would post one from here in Montgomery but we don't have any hills or structures for a good POV (other than the interstate bridge over the river and the local law takes a dim view of anyone going there and stopping). Thanks for looking... Mike

Hey Mike,

This is a very cool cityscape! I am glad you pulled this from the archives. I like the view, having the trees at the bottom to anchor the shot is a real nice touch, and adds a great visual contrast for the viewer.

I have the same issue with shooting city shots here in SoCal. And even though when driving through LA it's hard to miss the skyscrapers, it's a bit hard to know where one can stop to actually get a good view. Now I have recently shot it from Griffith Observatory which overlooks the city. But my being a Landscape person, I have to stretch myself a bit to get some city shots as I would like to add more to the City forum too.

Thanks Jim, I was lucky to have been at a reception at a club overlooking Birmingham that has a commanding view... Mike
