Frost on Gypsum Dunes at White Sands National Monument Park, NM

This was taken during the winter and it was very cold that morning. You can easily see the frost crystals on the top of the dunes. I kind of wish I was there right now keeping cool with the temperatures up to 100 and above here. Kind of looks like whipped cream doesn't it?

All you need is some kind of dessert sticking out from under it. The white sands look even whiter with this layer in frost. This scene looks like the cold temps would be exacerbated with the likely winds that have shaped this place. I like the view - from a not so cold vantage point in front of my computer screen 😁

Or a cherry on top!

Thanks, Alan. I like the dessert idea.

It certainly does, Doug! A very nice, different take on White Sands.
Thanks so much, Monika. I like your idea of a cherry on top. We have some whipped cream in the fridge and I'm thinking of squiring some in my mouth right now. Stay tuned for the cherry.

That is a really cool photo. Well, cold is more like it. Brrrrrrrrr........ If you had not said what it was, I might have thought infrared sand or something, but this is better. Thanks for sharing an unique shot!
