Wind turbines on a cloudy day

I have never been anywhere where I have had a chance to hear them. I see them all over the place in eastern Washington but usually through my windshield as I drive past. I like the mood of the skies in this scene.

Hey Rick, that's a cool shot of them.

There are lot's of them in California out by Joshua Tree and Palm Springs and I have stopped a bunch of times to photograph them. Now you have me trying to remember if I could hear them. I come from an industrial background, so if they did make noise I don't think I would even think about it as I would expect them to. I am used to anything that moves also makes noise. :)

These are old versions, about 200 feet high. the new ones will be near 400 feet ! Can't wait to go see them. Near where I live we can go underneath them.

this looks moody and post-apocalyptic to me. It makes my imagination go wild, thinking about a future where robots hunt mankind and we hide among the forest.
