Wet Plate #3

Today I went into the canyon to shoot my third plate. I had to make a darkroom out of a cardboard box and a tarp since you have to do the whole process in a matter of minutes.

I still have a lot to learn, but it is fun. It is pretty neat to use a process that was developed at the beginning of photography.

This looks like an image straight out of the late 1800's.

Seems that this expresses a human story even though the shot is a natural seen, without people. Often photographers push realism, clarity and sharpness and they forget that photography is art. On one hand photography has changed immensely, on the other not so much…

Your “post work” really makes the shot.

Thanks everyone! Its a fun, different way to practice photography. I thought large format was slow, wet plate takes even longer.
