The mushroom caps on these sand castles remind me of an apocalyptic image I probably saw in one of the B movies of the 1950's. Other than that, it was a rather pleasant day!

They formed within the sand of the lakebed. Similar yet different from the tufa towers. Sorry it took so long to get back to you!
