Nice perspective on the memorial. Not a place I have seen first hand.
Alan:

You owe it to yourself to take a trip to DC. My first time there was under duress, my wife wanted to take the kids while they would still be seen in public with us (early teens) and I wanted to go to the woods. Any woods, anywhere, just not to a city. I was wrong, it was humbling to visit all the historical places that I'd only read about and to see the stately monuments and buildings really put skin on history.

I recommend some research and schedule your trip out of the most popular times. This trip was besieged with tour groups of school age kids, getting in a Spring trip before school is out. They were all very well behaved but it is nice to have more reflection time at the monuments and not feel hurried.

I have to agree with Mike, if you have never been to DC you absolutely have to go. The history, the buildings, the museums. I have been there twice and I would love to go back again.

Love the up center angle and the contrast; great processing !
Thanks Dave. Composition can be a challenge at these monuments, both from the people element and lighting. We had already visited and were walking around to our ride when I saw this. I only had to clone out the top half of one head (guy mowing the grass beyond the wall). So, better to be lucky sometimes than good .
