We are looking to do Lake Superior for this fall. Location Suggestions?

We "did" the UP several years ago for fall and had a good time and found some lovely locations. We thought we might go further afield on Lake Superior this time to include Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ontario. There looks to be some areas around Thunder Bay that would be good and Maybe the Apostle Islands. Any other suggestions or areas to just skip? Looking to be there last week of September and first 2 weeks in October. Might hit Mackinac island for a few nights, when we are done, as I expect it peaks later.

crisp point lighthouse - it was on my list, but i didn't get to it last year due to storms. there's plenty of lists about lighthouse locations.
i found a lot of waterfalls on my route between places. go to google maps and type in waterfalls, you can usually click on the falls and see what it looks like.
