Waterfall Wednesday 9/18/2024

My waterfall for this week is from last fall's spectacular color show in the Columbia River Gorge - Wahkeena Falls. Shot with a 70mm lens on a drone hovering at roughly 350' above the Benson Recreation Area. This was a 7 shot burst blended using Burst Photo before processing with DxO PureRAW, Lightroom, and Photoshop.

According to locals the colors we got last fall were well over the top and the last time this area got a show that could match it was in 1976.

This is the base of Panther Creek's big falls. The moss covered rocks are well watered throughout the year.

We have a week of wonderful weather, light winds, no rain, constant sunshine and 70F so my wife and I went for a hike in the Lake District. This is a small beck and unusually for me I have photographed moving water with dappled sunshine. Also unusually I didn't bring a tripod but still managed sharpish hand held 0.3s exposures.
