Waterfall Wednesday 7/17/2024

My falls for this week are a small scene from Falls Creek Falls in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Sometimes it's fun to slap on a telephoto lens while shooting a large set of waterfalls and look around for interesting small scenes. This came out of such a session.

I have been re-arranging my lightroom catalogue, throwing out lots of rubbish and finding images long forgotten. I was never happy with my images from this location. One is forced up high above the falls and pointing an ultra wide angle lens steeply down just looks wrong to me. However after trying to tame the distortions caused by pointing a camera steeply up I have learned a few tricks, so here are a couple of images of the Black Linn on the River Braan in Central Scotland.

Unusually I haven't used a polariser producing blue water from sky reflections

Alan, good choice of shutter speed to convey the action!

Ken, I like the first one best for the more saturated greens and reds.

Sweet - a set of falls on the peninsula I have not visited before. Now on my list of places to check out I like this scene and your exposure choices.
