My falls for today are from last fall with a view to the first set of waterfalls you encounter along the Sweet Creek Trail. A lot of the leaves had already fallen but as I found out when I hiked in farther the color show was far from over.

More from my trip to Skye. The images were taken in terrible weather, high winds, driving rain and poor light. However I was there and in waterproof clothing so did my best. These are colour images. The last image shows a tiny sliver of light, it didn't spread or last. Ken

Glad you were waterproof so you could shoot and share these images - I love the dark and stormy mood in these scenes as it highlights the falls in each image. I like the head on view of the cascades in the second image.

This is Burney Falls in North California. As you approach the falls on the short trail from the campground, you descend from the top down a paved section of trail that offers some of the best views of the falls with a short telephoto. This is with a 135mm Zeiss on a Nikon d800e.
I like this view of these falls with the little cascades just below the cliff face.

Like @dan swiger I captured a few waterfalls when I was in Yosemite last week. Partly because they are beautiful and partly because I knew I would need some waterfalls for Waterfall Wednesday! :)

Upper Yosemite Falls. For it being wintertime it had a rather good flow to it. Sometimes in the winter the flow is so little that you only see the water at the top and at the bottom, the flow in the middle will disappear from the wind blowing it.

Neat shot - I love the ice on the sides of this scene and at the bottom in the shade.
