Waterfall Wednesday 2/22/2023

My starter falls for today is a shot from last spring with a very high water flow along Sweet Creek. I am almost surprised at how still the leaves are in this capture as the high water flow created its own wind flowing with the water downstream. I definitely prefer lower water flow rates to bring out details in all the terrain drops along the creek's path. This type of late spring flow just buries the details in in a raging current. I tried watching things that were being carried in the current but they went past and were out of sight in seconds.

Last image from Sourmilk Gill, English Lake District. This is the lowest little waterfall/ cascade on this tiny little beck. Impossible to get the camera on tripod into my preferred position so this is 5 hand-held images (1/6s) mean merged together. Ken

Here is an ephemeral waterfall I resurrected from the archives. I took this in the evening after a torrential rainfall earlier in the day. I took it for the flash flooding but with current software it can be used as a scenic image.

This makes a gorgeous scenic image and neat falls with the chocolate water.

Those are some serious intermittent falls Dan - it wouldn't take much of a breeze to turn the flow into a mist by the time it gets to the bottom

Really nice symmetry with the cascades in these falls. Neat find.
