A couple of weeks ago I showed an image of Palisades Falls in the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge or at least what you can see of them from the ground since the winds were howling that day. I went back up the Gorge a couple of days later when the winds had died down and got an aerial shot that offers a view of these falls you can only get from the air. Shot at 70mm from about 380'.

Maybe more like a water slide but it comes with a sunset

and just to follow the rules I took the horizontal version too
Never knew we had rules but I like both camera orientations for this scene. Neat to get such a nice sunset as a backdrop for these falls. I do like the color show at the top of the portrait version in your first image.

Bought a little DJI mini 4 pro. Went out playing with it last week and took a few shots in our local foothills. I can see possibilities.
Welcome to the friendly skies Jim. It's quite amazing what happens when your photo viewpoints are no longer tethered to the earth beneath your feet. It can be a bit nerve-racking when you first fly out over water to shoot falls like these but once you see the results it's a lot of fun.

Nice little set of falls.

The equivalent of 3.3s hand held. Actually 11 images each of 0.3s with me leaning far out over the hand rail on a footbridge. I mean merge the images together much like the median merging used with drone shots. . This gets me close to the stage where I don't need a tripod but I am not yet brave enough to leave the tripod behind. Ken

That's an impressive result for handheld and makes a strong case for using burst sequences and blending instead of lengthy exposures on a tripod. I would have shunned such an approach in my younger days in favor of lugging around my tripod but any more I am looking for ways to streamline the amount of kit I carry on trails.

I have been using a Mac application called Burst Photo (written by @Alex Vasile) to merge my burst shots but I can't say for sure whether he is using mean or median for the blend results. My shots aren't as long as your 0.3s and I can only get 7 shots in burst with my Mavic 3 Pro but I still am happy with the results.

Ken, I just love the blend of light and dark in this image - great capture!

Bridal Veil Falls, Columbia River Gorge on a surprisingly green February morning.
That area below the falls is actually quite green most of the year since it doesn't get much sunlight down below the cliffs. I used to try out various shatter speeds and filters down on the little footbridge when foot traffic is low in mid winter.

In broad strokes you can think of the stacking step as a weighed mean.
