This is a small lake near Moab high on the La Sal mountains. The sky didn't do me any favors on my lone visit there. Some remnants of the fall colors compensated for that.

Shots like these I think get along fine without clouds. I love my clouds as much as the next photographer, but sometimes with all of that golden goodness of fall, the blue compliments it well. Not having a huge blue sky is a help, as that would have hurt the image, but having just that rim of blue on the horizon I think works nicely.

That area is renowned for it's clear skies and you got a good sampling of that here. They are a nice shade of blue and the fall scene more than makes up for it.
