Wallowa Water

I'm not too far from the Wallowa Mountains in NE Oregon and try to make it there a couple of time a year, especially for backpacking. Here are a couple river/creek photos from the area.

Hunter Falls just off the Lostine Canyon Road...got close with a 21mm.

The Lostine River from a bridge, just before the awful washboard ride begins.

Finally, the Lostine River right by the Shady Campground, a wonderful spot!

Beautiful shots of an amazing area. I love the falls and the canyon in the first two images. The campground area looks quite nice as well.

I spent some time in Joseph a few years back and got a tempting sense of what the Wallowas were like but was quite limited on where I could go with a 25' motorhome. I haven't had a chance to go back since then but your shots of the area are quite tempting.

Alan has got to be drooling over these water scenes!

It's really awesome to see another area that I am not familiar with at all. These are really great!

The first one has about 3 different compositions that are really strong if you cropped or used a different lens. But I do like it just as you captured it as well. You used a 21mm prime on this?

#2 is great as well in how it channels the eye through the image.

Jim, yes I have a 21 Zeiss Loxia for my Sony E cameras. I must have a good copy because everything is always sharp despite the manual focus.

Alan, the Wallowas are such a great place, but most of the trails are really long. Checking out Buckhorn Overlook or Hat Point (towards Hells Canyon) is definitely worth a drive, but without a motorhome!

I wandered as far as Imnaha but that was turnaround time for my RV. Bummer 'cuz I really wanted to see an overlook for those canyons. I got tired of turning around prior to my desired destinations and sold it the next spring.
