Wallace Falls

My wife and I went for a very pleasant hike yesterday up to Wallace Falls off of Hwy 2 in the Central Cascades. Last time we thought about doing that hike on a nice summer weekend cars were parked half a mile down the road from the park so we turned around. Yesterday we passed maybe 10 people on the trail. Perfect temps for us - cool enough that you don't sweat while walking, stop for a bite and put on the down parka.

Hey Jim,

B&W suites these shots really nicely. I like the water flow in #2 quite a bit. But I do wish it had been shot slightly faster to get a bit more definition in the water for my taste anyway.

Jim, to get the smooth water I used the "Smooth Reflexions" app on my Sony A7rII which combines many shots (in this case 30) to produce this result like using a strong ND.

That is a nice hike. The falls are almost impossible to shoot on a clear day due to the reflection of the sun on the water. I like the composition of the second image, although it appears that the water is blown. The B&W treatment works better due to this.
