Wait! What Season is it?

It's January, the middle of Winter! Well, that is unless you are in Southern California, and then it's finally turned into Fall. I don't know if we are just late or just pure weird. But I have always thought it fun that while the rest of America has their fall colors from Late Sept into early November, that in SoCal, our trees finally start to change color in January.

Here is a couple of photos taken with the iPhone 15 Pro Max a few days ago.

All comments are welcome,

I still have a young oak tree in our backyard with its leaves still on. The leaves changed color and even got covered in ice for several days but the leaves are still attached.

I like the second shot with the closeup of the leaf colors still in transition.

Leaves in ice is really cool. We aren't getting that down here.

Yeah, I like the closeup image the most too.

Oak trees tend to maintain their leaves well into the winter. This is a Black Oak at Illinois Beach State Park in the dead of winter.
