And this is Vittorio, he's a character here on the island, he has a very tough familiar history and a long list of diseases but he's tough to knock down, as usual he's kind of a phenomenon for the local community and as such he thinks we all want to make fun of him, in this attempt to take a pic of him he tried to obscure himself off the camera but, again, matter of luck I did menage not only to get the shot but also to get the eye in focus but to me, again, is the message not (just) the tech aspect of the image itself.

Again the little Fuji allowed me to kind of not being too obvious at attempting to capture his intimacy, later on I worked out to build confidence with him and spent hours together with a DSLR but out of the long session I didn't get very significative shots, I learnt that planning doesn't always work to get on target, many a times stuff just happens...

A wonderful capture! The detail in his face is amazing. I might have to look more into this Fuji you are using, it looks quite capable.

The Fuji are very capable cameras but this shot was matter of sheer luck if I locked the focus, mine is the first iteration of the X-Trans sensor and its AF is really really slow, in fact I am going to sell the wide angle and the zoom to only keep the camera with its 35mm as a casual shooter but won't rely on this on moving subjects at all, if planned to use for stationary ones it's a fine camera but still some limitations compared to a DLSR which even tho bigger and heavier it more suitable for my kind of shooting.

Thanks for appreciating my pic

Hey Giovanni,

I think for many, we would want to try and capture the whole face of someone we are shooting. But in this case having half of his face hidden adds to the intrigue and mystery of this image. This is very nice, and again some very nice detail with the B&W being perfect for this.

This is a very good example of serendipity. Being in the right place at the right time and being prepared enough to take advantage of it.

This has a lot going for it.

"Speak to the hand" ;). I like the spontaneity and reality, something we all encounter, but you've captured.
