love sunset.

Sunsets are great Lenny! I do agree. 
These are not your typical sunset views over Los Angeles. I think I like #2 the most. Now the ground layer probably was that dark, but a part of me has me wishing the ground layer was a bit brighter, or a bit of shadow detail was used to help see a bit more detail of the houses and buildings. I am not sure if that's possible or not.

That's a great sunset in 2. 1 reminds me of a flight into LAX about 40 years ago from the east and how amazing the size of the suburban/urban area was from that direction.

That second shot almost looks like the alien spacecraft in Independence Day is about to land. Delightful color show in both of these. The first one is nice but the second one is the crowd pleaser.
