Vernal Autumn

Vernal Falls has always been one of my favorites in Yosemite. It is also appropriately named as it is at its most impressive in the spring and usually slowing to a trickle by fall. The recent rain storms, though, have brought it back to life and given me my fist chance to shoot it with fall color.

So here is Vernal in Autumn. Any thoughts are welcome.

I think that is actually from a passing cloud, but I agree it looks awkward. I can probably smooth it out some

This is probably the best fall color photo I have seen of Vernal. I have gone there many times in the fall and shot it with the trickle that’s normally there.

Any guess on how long the water flow will be above normal? I will be back to California in a few days.

Thanks a lot Jim. I have no idea how long the flow will last. I'm pretty sure the color is fading fast though.
