Turkey Creek Moon (Infrared)

Turkey Creek Moon (Infrared). Here’s a bit of infrared minimalism – an early spring half moon above the red sandstone cliffs overlooking the Turkey Creek trail. A blue sky can come out very dark when photographed in infrared, as exemplified in this scene in the Coconino National Forest outside of Sedona.

Tech info: Nikon D3200 camera (modified for infrared with 590nm filter), Nikon 18-140mm lens at 116mm, 1/320 sec. at f11, ISO 200

Thanks, @JimFox and @AlanLichty ! Alan - FYI, the image was captured on a sunny afternoon, so the relative amount of moonlight on the scene is negligible... ;-)
There you go! Very smart!

I actually shot the moon last night an hour before sunset so it was up in the sky visible but it was blue sky all around it. I will have to keep an eye out for those opportunities this next trip.
